A busy day for many members of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, with the team being involved in three events today.
Team members attended both Leek and Castleton, raising funds to enable us to provide the voluntary service that we, (and other similar mountain and lowland teams provide) to help those who need our specialist skills.
We’d like to thank everybody who made a donation, both at Leek and at Castleton on the day. All of your donations go directly to maintaining the team’s operational status. Without your support and help, we couldn’t do what we do.
A special thank you goes to Moorlands Fine Foods and Dexter Beef, who presented the Leek fundraising team with a cheque for £100 raised during a tea party back in the summer. This was a complete surprise to the team members who were at Leek. We’re very grateful for the support from Moorlandsfinefoods. Have a look at their website. http://www.moorlandsfinefoods.co.uk/
Meanwhile at Castleton, we were visited by a Christmas elf. Apparently the elf was checking our elf’n’safety.
In addition to the two fund raising events, our water trained team members were going through their re-qualification assessment. This is another part of the rescue teams emergency rescue abilities, and as we know, very appropriate in view of the recent flooding events.
