New Tea Room cooks up support
Local couple, Tegg and Laura, (yes, Tegg is his real name!), have opened a tea room in the warden’s building at Tegg’s Nose Country Park near Macclesfield. They have given up secure, well paid, jobs to begin a new adventure providing tea, coffee, cake and pork pies to walkers, runners, cyclists, mountain bikers and anyone else who happens to pop into Tegg’s Nose.
On their own initiative, the new teashop owners chose Buxton Mountain Rescue Team to benefit from their opening day. Local companies donated prizes for a raffle with the proceeds of over £130 going to the team. They also agreed to have a collection box to continue raising money for BMRT.
The Tegg’s Nose Country Park is owned and operated by Cheshire East Council which has helped the team with training facilities for over forty years. The team worked to develop the abseiling / climbing area of the quarry in the 1970s. Now, team members regularly use the old quarry wall for rope rescue training which provides a safe environment for novice and advanced development.
The team sends a huge “Thank you” to Tegg and Laura for their support and to the companies which donated raffle prizes. We wish them the very best of luck in their new venture.
If you’re spending time in the Macclesfield Forest area or just passing by Tegg’s Nose, please call into the Tea Room and support those who support the team.
