It's a long walk for young legs!
Starts Wednesday 22nd July !
Nine year old James Martin from Poynton in Cheshire is all set to take on 190 miles of the rugged Coast to Coast in July and all to raise money for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team!
James is no stranger to big hills and long walks having already conquered Ben Nevis, Ben Lomond, Skiddaw, Helvellyn by Striding Edge and all the Langdale peaks to mention just a few. In 2007 he completed the West Highland Way and in 2008 mastered the Cumbrian Way.
The Coast to Coast will be his longest walk so far and his first for sponsorship so he is eager for your support. James chose Buxton Mountain Rescue Team after seeing a Search & Rescue helicopter land on top of the Ben.
James will be accompanied by his mum through the Lakes and then joined by his brother Josh (13) on the Yorkshire Moors. James will be easily recognisable by the bright red shirt with the Buxton team logo which he hopes may attract a few extra donations on route.
James decided to …………… No, to read his own story and offer him some encouragement, go to http://www.justgiving.com/jamesmartin09 Watch this space for an update on his achievement later in July.
