High Peak Mayor gives a blanket donation.
Buxton Mountain Rescue was honoured to be invited once again to a special 
presentation evening held at Buxton’s Pavillion Gardens last Friday.
presentation evening held at Buxton’s Pavillion Gardens last Friday.Retiring Mayor, Stuart Young, presented a number of local charities a portion of the funds raised by the High Peak Mayoral Charity Committee throughout the last year. Team Leader, Neil Carruthers, and Fundraising Manager, Dave Goodman, attended the event on behalf of the team together with a significant number of representatives from other local charities each receiving generous donations towards their funds.
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team would like to thank the High Peak Mayor, Councillor Stuart Young and the Mayoral Charity Committee for their generous donation to the team. The donation will be put towards the purchase of a new vacuum mattress. The mattress is like a thick blanket filled with tiny balls. When all the air is pumped out the mattress it moulds itself to the shape of the casualty providing a perfect splint system suitable for stabilising all sorts of injuries. The new mattress will replace an existing one which has seen so much use it is now at the end of its useful life.
