Marathon Man, Ben Brindly finished his seventh marathon on Saturday afternoon with the Ladybower Trail.  A mere 3,200 feet of ascent with 26.2 miles bringing his total for the week to over 180 miles. 

There were lots of people at the finishing point under Derwent Dam to welcome him home.  Team members had tried to meet Ben somewhere on each of his marathon days and a few more were waiting at the very end.

The whole event has been a fantastic achievement and at the end Ben looked as fit as the day he started.  It’s all been about raising money for the rescue team and Ben now has to tally up the sum from his supporters.

I’m sure there will be a special presentation event soon when Buxton Mountain Rescue Team will be able to say a suitably big “THANK YOU” to Ben and his family.
