Emergency Services Display & Fun Day
Sunday June 8th 2014 at the Pavilion Gardens Promenade, Buxton
10:30 am to 4:15 pm Admission Free
This is a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of the work of the Police, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue Services. It also showcases the other organisations that work in partnership with the emergency services in the Peak District and High Peak, including Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue, Search and Rescue Dogs Association, Air Ambulance, Community First Responders, Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service, Neighbourhood Watch, The Peak National Park Authority and more.
There will be static displays by each of the emergency services where you can ask questions, pick up information, tips and advice, or take a look at their specialist equipment and vehicles. Additional to this there will be arena displays, with a simulated road traffic accident, and a fire call.
And lastly, back by popular demand, is Buxton’s irrepressible marching band, The Billerettes. For children there will be the chance to wriggle through a mock cave, climb on board a fire engine, and explore the Smoke House tent. Plus quizzes, games and much more besides. A great day out for the whole family.
