Bethany’s Design Heralds Rescue Team’s Golden Anniversary Year
The BMRT Anniversary Logo Competition winners were announced on Friday and the prizes and certificates were quickly on their way to the talented young designers throughout the High Peak.
The competition was launched to discover a new Team Logo to promote the team’s Golden Anniversary in 2014. The response was amazing with so many quality entries causing a real headache for the judges. Eventually five entries were chosen as finalists in varying age groups with just one outstanding overall winner of the competition.
The design submitted by Bethany Griffiths of Chinley Primary School was the one thought to best convey the nature and spirit of the team’s work. Bethany was presented with a winning certificate and prizes totalling £50 at her school on Friday afternoon by Team Chairman, Roger Bennett.
Roger said, “ The team launched this competition to get our next generation of members talking with their families about mountain rescue and the work freely done by rescue and many other voluntary groups. The response was fantastic and I have to thank all the children for taking part and their teachers for their terrific support. ”
Other prize winners were: Megan Mc Culloch of Chesterfield, commended. Molly Frith, Chinley Primary School, commended. Keely Sweeney, Harpur Hill Primary School, age group winner. Emily Sweeney, Chinley Primary School overall runner-up.
