BBC North West Tonight drop by.
Suzanne Hailey, Broadcast Journalist with BBC North West Tonight, approached the team in relation to a series of short articles the BBC are recording about mountain rescue.
The team was honoured to oblige and three members met Suzanne and her cameraman one evening last week with Mam Tor providing a suitable backdrop. Reports had already been recorded by Patterdale team in the Lake District and Oldham team in the north of the Peak. The theme of Buxton’s contribution was to be based on the question, “What make someone volunteer?” Team Chairman, Richard Doran, Team Leader, Neil Carruthers and team Operational Secretary, Roger Bennett each partook in a short interview with Suzanne. The whole session took over an hour but the final production will be just two minutes long.
The finished report will be part of BBC’s North West Tonight magazine programme and will be broadcast later this year.
