£5,000 donation towards Mountain Rescue

Members of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team  met the Mayor of Macclesfield Councillor Beverley Dooley who presented the team with a cheque for £5,000 towards the purchase of vital life saving equipment. Team members talked with Councillor Dooley about the work of a volunteer mountain rescuer, and were able to show the Mayor some of the equipment carried on the Mobile 1 response vehicle. The team has members from across the Peak District, with many members living in and around Macclesfield.
Team Chairman Richard Doran said “This is a really generous donation by Macclesfield Town Council to the mountain rescue team. It will help greatly to enable the volunteers to provide the emergency mountain rescue assistance to those who may require our help. We are extremely grateful to Macclesfield Town Council for their support”.
On hand to receive the cheque were Richard Doran, Rick Mobbs, Dick Warren and Andy Humberstone.
