Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was invited to the Vale Inn, Bollington, one of The Bollington Brewery’s pubs, to receive a donation for helping out on the Bollington 3 Peaks Fell Race.

Team chairman Rick Mobbs received the cheque from Lee Wainwright and Tim Jones at the Vale Inn.

Team members Carney and Fleur visited Buxton Women’s Institute earlier today to give a presentation talk to WI members about the valuable work of the mountain rescue volunteers, in and around Buxton.

It was also a chance for the Team to say thank you to Buxton WI for a generous donation they gave the team last year when the WI members decided not to send each other Christmas cards but instead collected the money they would have spent on cards, and donated it the team for our drone fund. The team recently received a substantial donation from Waitrose & Partners to support the valuable work carried out by the rescue team. A thank you to our local breweries who helped us put on the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team Fell’n’Back 2019 race.

Without the support of the these local breweries, who generously supplied the prizes for the runners, we couldn’t put this event on and make it the success it is.

All the funds raised from “our” fell race go to support the annual running costs, of £45,000 of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.

The team, which is a registered charity and made up entirely of volunteers are on call 24/7/365 …

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped the rescue team organise the Fell’n’Back race, and of course thank you to the hardy fell runners who took part.
