Crowden Brook Kinder Scout

Joint callout with Kinder Mountain Rescue Team, for a search for a party of 4 lost on the top of Kinder Scout, behind Grindslow Knoll who were cold, wet and wanting to get off the hill.

The group were located by Buxton Mountain Rescue, cold and wet but able to walk off. Car parked in Edale Main Car Park.

Search & Rescue Dog Association were also called and attended the incident. …

Jacobs Ladder

Called out to a collapsed spaniel dog, thought to be somewhere on Jacobs Ladder.

As team members were en-route, they were stood down as the person(s) reporting the incident were being evacuated in a local’s 4×4.

The team returned to stand by.

Cowdale

Buxton MRT received a call from East Midland Ambulance Service regarding a walker with a lower leg injury after slipped down a banking in Cowdale.

The Team responded and began making their way to base however they were stood down before deployment from base, at info gathering stage.

Parkhouse Hill

A group of friends were enjoying the winter sunshine with a walk over Parkhouse Hill, near Chrome Hill (Dragons Back). Whilst descending a particularly steep section one of the friends slipped on the greasy, muddy limestone, the type where even your vibram soles have no grip! Unfortunately, the casualty sustained a very painful injury to the left ankle. Other members of the group called for assistance by dialling 999 and asking for the police, then Mountain Rescue.

Goyt Valley

Three minutes before the end of extra time, the team was called out to assist Derbyshire Constabulary, Peak 4×4 Response and The AA with several stranded motorists in the Goyt Valley.

Due to the icy and hazardous driving conditions, team members met at the Oaklands outdoor centre, then were driven to the Fernilee Dam car park in Mobile 4 then walked to Errwood Sailing club.

Before this, a small party of team members set out on foot wearing microspikes from the Long Hill road to Errwood Sailing club….

Oxlow Rake Trig point

A group of experienced walkers had set out from Great Hucklow to enjoy a winter’s day walk in the Peak District.

Unfortunately, one of the walkers slipped on a patch of frozen ground near the trig point close to Oxlow Rake, which resulted in an injured ankle.

Lathkill Dale

A couple enjoying a weekend away in the Peak District National Park had ventured out from their B&B to explore the delights of Lathkill Dale. Dusk soon descended on the valley and the walkers found themselves disorientated as the valley got darker.

With a torch, they managed to find some shelter and call for assistance by contacting the Police via the SOS function on their mobile phone.

Kinder Scout

The team was called out by Derbyshire Constabulary to look for a group of friends that had become separated in low cloud on their walk.

Team members searched the area around Jacob’s Ladder up to Edale Rocks and Brown Knoll.

A member of the party who had painful ankles was located with his dog on the Jacob’s Ladder path at dusk and was walked with team members to the awaiting team vehicles on the rough track above Upper Booth. They were given a lift back in the team Landrover to Edale….
