Buxton Mountain Rescue Team Member Dave and Search dog Griff were in Cornwall and were able to provide assistance to Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Plymouth Section in a search for a high-risk missing person.

Further information was received and the search was recommenced on Friday with DSRT Plymouth, DSRT Tavistock and 7 Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England dogs and handlers.

As the Todbrook Reservoir dam incident developed, water trained personnel were requested to be ready and stationed locally in case of a dam breach. Other team members took up station at control and at other advised locations.

Navigators for search in Styal, Wilmslow

Two team members were deployed to act as navigators to help the Mountain Rescue Search dogs England (MRSDE) handlers searching for a missing boy from the Wilmslow area.

BMRT team members assisted MRSDE, Cheshire Search and Rescue, Kinder MRT, Police and police helicopter were in attendance.

The missing person turned up safe and well at around 1:30 pm.

Roaches Gate

Another call out to the Roaches to assist

The team was called out to assist Staffordshire PoliceOfficialwmas and a Community First Responder with a fallen climber at the Roaches.

The climber had reportedly fallen about 10 metres and received what were initially thought to be serious injuries. As such the Midlands Air Ambulance was also requested to attend.

The team was called out to assist Derbyshire Constabulary with a search for a missing walker who had become separated from their walking group.

Due to the size of the search area, the team requested the assistance of Edale Mountain Rescue Team, and 3 search dog teams from Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England.

All teams were stood down just after midnight, with the intention of continuing the search the following morning.

Roaches Gate

The team was called out to a climber who injured their leg whilst on a climb at the Roaches. Their leg was extremely painful and the casualty found that they were unable to continue either up or down the crag to safety. The casualty was made safe on a ledge by members of their party, and mountain rescue alerted.

It was a busy evening for the team, which began with our usual Thursday night training at Hen Cloud, and ended up with a call out to Errwood Hall, Goyt Valley.

Whilst en-route to the previous incident, the team were re tasked to respond to an incident local to the teams primary operating area to assist a male casualty who had been walking with friends. The gentleman fell about 20 ft down an embankment, suffering a knee injury.
