Incident report
While descending Old Charity Lane a mountain biker took a tumble resulting in an injury to the lower leg.
Our colleagues at North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust were called through Derbyshire Constabulary, and they requested help from the team to organise the evacuation of the casualty down the broken track to the Forest Chapel car park.
Our 4×4 response vehicles were soon on scene and able to carry equipment and team members close to the site of the incident to assist the paramedics.
After being given pain relief a box splint was placed around the lower limb, and the mountain biker was soon on one of our mountain rescue stretchers for the carry down to the land ambulance and the onward journey to hospital.
Team equipment was cleaned and packed as per our Covid-19 guidelines and the vehicles returned to base.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and a swift return to enjoy the Peak District National Park.
