Incident report
As the Three Shires is located where the counties of Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire meet, a 999 call can be patched through to one of three ambulance, police or fire & rescue authorities.
A report had been received that a person had fallen into the water and sustained head injuries.
With this call, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Northwest Ambulance Service were tasked, along with the North West Air Ambulance Charity, callsign Helimed 75 from Barton.
Team members made their way to the casualty’s possible location at Three Shires Head, but no casualty was located! Team members then widened the search and checked with walkers to see if they had seen the casualty.
After some time it was thought that the casualty must have made their way to the hospital or home on their own.
We’d like to thank the farmer for access to his field, this enabled us to locate the response vehicles closer to Three Shires Head.
