Incident report
The team was contacted by the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation duty controller to attend an incident with Derby Mountain Rescue Team. A report had been received from West Midlands Ambulance Service that a walker had slipped in Thor’s Cave and had dislocated their right shoulder.
On arrival, both teams located the casualty on the access path to the cave. The casualty had been assessed by Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance paramedics so the casualty was then packaged onto a mountain rescue stretcher and transferred down the slippery slope to the awaiting air ambulance.
Once safely on board the helicopter, the casualty was flown to the Royal Stoke hospital.
