Incident report
The team was requested to assist North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust HART with a climber who was reported to have fallen between 2-3 metres whilst on the Black & Tans route, and was now stuck on a ledge.
By the time the team arrived on the scene, the climber’s friends had managed to lower the casualty to the ground.
The casualty was administered pain relief and then transferred to the awaiting land ambulance. The terrain was such that, with the assistance of HART and the climber’s friends, the stretcher was carried hand-over-hand.
