Incident report
The team was called to assist Edale Mountain Rescue Team with the extraction of a fallen climber at Stoney West. The climber had fallen about 10 metres. Although this crag is close to the road it is high up and requires a tricky evacuation down to the road.
The climber had been attended too by an ambulance service paramedic prior to the arrival of the rescue teams.
The teams completed a difficult carry out, which included the closure of the A623 for a short time. Apologies to anyone that may have been inconvenienced by this but it was necessary for the safety of team mmebers.
At the roadhead, the injured climber was transferred to ambulance for the onwards transport to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.
