Incident report
The first of three call outs of the day for the team began at just after 2.00.
While walking along the top of The Roaches, a member of a DofE group tripped sustaining a painful lower leg injury. A 999 call was made which resulted in West Midlands Ambulance Service (Officialwmas)and Buxton MRT being called to assist the casualty and to arrange the carry-off back to the road.
Team members and a response vehicle were at an event at the White Hall Outdoor Education Centre in Buxton were quickly on the way to the scene, and to meet with the paramedics.
Initial medical treatment was provided by team members before the arrival of the WMAS crew, and the casualty was soon splinted and on the mountain rescue stretcher for the journey back to the road, and the ambulance.
