Incident report

Two sisters had just set off for a walk from the Monsal Head car park to visit the viaduct. Unfortunately, just after starting the descent one of the sisters slipped on the very polished limestone rocks causing an injury to the left ankle.

East Midlands Ambulance Service was first on the scene to administer pain relief and place the injured leg into a box splint.

Team members then arrived to transfer the casualty onto a mountain rescue stretcher for a short carry to the awaiting ambulance.

We’d also like to thank the very kind member of the public, who approached the team with a generous donation.

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and hope it won’t be too long until they return to visit the Peak District National Park again.
