Incident report
Whilst team members were nearing the end of marshalling on the Buxton 1/2 marathon and fundraising in Castleton, they received a call to the Jacob’s Ladder area of Kinder Scout.
Due to members still marshalling on the race, assistance from Edale Mountain Rescue Team was requested.
Team members arrived at Tipps car park and were transported by 4×4 vehicles to the base of Jacob’s Ladder. They then headed to the casualty, a young lady who was part of a group, who was suffering from breathing difficulties near to Edale Cross.
Due to the condition of the casualty, and the unpleasant weather, assistance from Kinder Mountain Rescue Team was requested, who were able to access with a 4×4 towards Edale Cross.
After being administered first aid, the casualty recovered and was able to walk, assisted by team members, to awaiting vehicles and was transported back to Tipps car park.
We would like to thank the fast actions of the young lady’s group, who placed her in an emergency shelter and provided support until team members arrived.
