Incident report
A sense of déjà vu today as a callout came for another incident with an RV at Tipps Car Park. It had been less than 24 hours since the team had last been here for callout 23.
The request came from East Midlands Ambulance Service, to assist with the evacuation of a casualty in the Jacob’s Ladder area, although there was some doubt as to the exact location. The team members first on the scene, and wearing all appropriate covid 19 PPE, began the walk up the track with team kit appropriate for a stretcher evacuation. When located, the walker was assessed by an East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedic and the decision made for the casualty to walk themselves off the hill, with the team being on hand to give assistance if necessary.
In the meantime, further team members were walking up to offer help if a stretcher carry became necessary. The casualty, accompanied by other family members, made their way to the waiting team 4×4 to be driven to Tipps Car Park and the awaiting ambulance. The vehicles then returned to base for cleaning in line with our Covid-19 policies in anticipation of the next callout.
The team sends their good wishes to the casualty and for a speedy recovery.
