Incident report

Three minutes before the end of extra time, the team was called out to assist Derbyshire Constabulary, Peak 4×4 Response and The AA with several stranded motorists in the Goyt Valley.

Due to the icy and hazardous driving conditions, team members met at the Oaklands outdoor centre, then were driven to the Fernilee Dam car park in Mobile 4 then walked to Errwood Sailing club.

Before this, a small party of team members set out on foot wearing microspikes from the Long Hill road to Errwood Sailing club.

The first section met the occupants of the first vehicle and then walked the family to Fernilee car park and the awaiting Mountain Rescue vehicles and Peak 4×4 response.

A second party walked on foot to a second stranded vehicle on the road heading to Pym Chair car park. The family were given some food and water, before being walked back to the Mountain Rescue vehicles.

Thankfully, all occupants are now safe and well, with team members back home enjoying a well-earned drink.
