Incident report

A walking group had set off to enjoy a day in the Peak District National Park, but as the party were passing through Chee Dale, a member of the group slipped and painfully injured their arm.

The team responded and once the casualty was provided with strong pain relief, they were placed onto the mountain rescue stretcher. The evacuation was a little tricky, carrying the stretcher over boardwalks and a narrow bridge, to the awaiting East Midlands Ambulance Service, at the Millers Dale car park.

We would like to thank the passer-by who correctly identified that Mountain Rescue was required due to the location and called 999, asking for the Police and then Mountain Rescue.

Another huge thanks go to the other members of the walking group who assisted with the stretcher carry.

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
