Incident report
Whilst en-route to the previous incident, the team were re tasked to respond to an incident local to the teams primary operating area to assist a male casualty who had been walking with friends. The gentleman fell about 20 ft down an embankment, suffering a knee injury.
Due to it being midweek, with many of the team at work, Derby Mountain Rescue Team was requested to assist.
On arrival at the casualty, he was assessed by team members, and his leg was splinted and imobilised, before he was placed on a mountain rescue stretcher for the short carry out to the road head.
He was then transferred to an East Midlands Ambulance for onward transport to hospital.
