Incident report

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called to an incident which may have occurred some time earlier in the morning whereby a young female had sustained a painful injury during a military training exercise.  The initial rendezvous point for team members was at the disused army camp at Blackshaw Moor but the incident site was actually about eight kilometres drive away.

The army cadet had slipped about twenty metres down a boggy embankment and suffered a suspected fractured ankle.   Pain relieving drugs were administered by the ambulance paramedics whilst team members prepared the casualty and rigged ropes for the evacuation back up the steep slope.  Once back at the top it was a short carry to the waiting ambulance where she was re-examined by the team doctor before transfer to hospital.
