Incident report
A male climber was leading on Scarlet Wall, an eleven metre hard severe, and had nearly reached the top when he fell. Climbing protection probably slowed his rate of descent but failed to stop him impacting the ground sustaining shoulder and possible internal injuries.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was first to attend the incident with a paramedic and the West Midlands Air-ambulance. Mountain Rescue was requested a short while after and Buxton Team responded with fifteen members. Casualty treatment was by West Midlands paramedics who started the carry-off on a scoop stretcher. On arrival, the rescue team transferred the casualty to a rescue stretcher for the remaining evacuation to a waiting aircraft.
We acknowledge the prompt assistance of the community of climbers on the crag at the time, who were a great help to the ambulance crew.

Really hope that this gentleman is ok and him and his entire climbing party managed to get back up to Edinburgh ok. I was one of the climbers in one of the groups nearby at the time. Wishing him a speedy recovery
