Incident report

The team were called to assist an experienced paraglider who unfortunately got blown back into the hillside on take-off. As a result, he lost consciousness for a short period of time. East Midlands Ambulance Service was first on scene and due to the possible, serious nature of his injuries, an Air Ambulance was requested. The team packaged the casualty on the helicopter’s scoop stretcher, then placed this onto our stretcher and carried uphill to the aircraft which was waiting on the ridge top.
