Incident report
A joint Edale & Buxton Mountain Rescue snatch squad call-out was initiated in a weekend afternoon following the report of a casualty having collapsed on the Monsal Trail near Rowdale.
Eight Buxton team members rendezvoused with ten Edale team members on the A6020 between Ashford and Hassop Station roundabout to assist a 61 year old female walker from Wigan who had felt unwell whilst out walking.
Fortunately the lady recovered sufficiently to be able to walk with assistance to the road. The lady declined to go to hospital and the teams stood down at 15.30 hours.
Whilst dealing with this incident another call was received relating to a dog lost down a hole in Grindsbrook at Edale. Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation was alerted and although some mountain rescue team members started to make their way to Edale in order to assist they were stood down when cave rescue confirmed that it was attending.
