Incident report
A joint Buxton Edale snatch squad was called to assist the East Midlands Ambulance Service with a casualty on the hillsides near Odin Mine below Mam Tor.
Heavy rain had made the hillside extremely slippery turning recognised paths in to mud trails. The casualty, a lady from Nottingham, was on a short walk celebrating her 60th birthday when she slipped and sustained a fractured upper leg. Mountain Rescue first aiders followed by an MR Doctor treated the lady, administering pain relief before she was carefully placed on a rescue stretcher for the carry down to a waiting land ambulance.
The onset of darkness complicated the evacuation but the casualty and her husband were soon at the ambulance and ready for transport to hospital.

Hello
Believe it or not I am the above lady, now home and on the mend. I just had to email your teams to say how extremeley gratefull I am for what they did for me. Although an unfortunate accident the team made me feel so safe and relived. I cannot praise them enough, they are all amazing even at a time when I felt awful and scared they still managed to bring a smile to my face . Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I|HOPE THIS MESSAGE IS DELIVERED TO EVERYONE CONCERNED THAT DAY.
p.s could you give me details to send a donation, I wish I could do more.
