Incident report

Buxton and several other Peak District rescue teams plus search dogs were put on stand-by following the overdue report of a group of youths on a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme expedition.

It was a clear, moonlit night but temperatures were forecast to fall below freezing by midnight.  Fortunately, the group turned up safely before the final decision to start a full search was taken.
