Incident report
Buxton and Edale rescue teams called to rendezvous at Upper Booth following the report of a mountain biker having crashed at the top of Jacob’s Ladder.
The man sustained a suspected fractured collar bone and was treated by rescue first aiders and a paramedic before being placed on a stretcher. He was then carried down the old packhorse route to Lee farm where an East Midlands ambulance was waiting to transfer him to a Sheffield hospital.
On route to this incident team members came across another mountain-biker from Nottingham lying at the side of the road. The man had sustained leg injuries and abrasions. Team members dressed his wounds and offered pain relief. His mate was given a lift to collect their vehicle from Edale so he could return to collect the casualty and continue on their way home.
