Incident report

A Buxton and Edale snatch squad was called to Higger Tor, near Hathersage, late on Wednesday morning.

A passing walker had stumbled across an unconscious male lying beside the footpath on moorland beyond Higger Tor.

The unconscious casualty was checked on site by an Edale team paramedic. He was then evacuated to the waiting air ambulance and flown to the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, for further treatment.
