Incident report
A joint Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Team snatch squad was called to Edale village on Saturday afternoon, following reports of an injured walker on Kinder Scout.
We located a 64 year old male from Rotherham at the top of Golden Clough. He was joining the Southern Edge path when he slipped, falling about 2 metres onto boulders. The gentleman sustained leg and head injuries.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance had also responded, landing on the Kinder Plateau some distance away. The casualty was treated on site by the air ambulance doctor and carried on a stretcher by team members to the waiting helicopter, some 500 metres away. He was then flown to the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, for further treatment.
