Incident report
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was requested to help West Midlands Ambulance Service with a casualty who had been walking on the Dane Valley Way near to Wincle.
The team was already engaged on a call-out at Teggs Nose so additional members were called to arrive at Dane Bridge, Wincle, in advance of the team vehicles which were close behind. The location of the accident site meant a walk in of over a kilometre for members with the equipment but quickly rendezvoused with ambulance paramedics already treating the casualty.
A fifty-two year old lady from Middlewich, had slipped on the muddy path and sustained a suspected fractured ankle injury. Following medical treatment the lady was placed on a rescue stretcher for a carry-out to the waiting ambulance and onward transport to Macclesfield hospital.

One comment
As the husband of the injured lady, I would like to thank the fantastic response of the Buxton Mountain Rescue team, and also the paramedics who attended. Nicola sustained a very badly broken ankle, (both bones) as well as a dislocated ankle. She is currently in Macclesfield hospital, where she is awaiting surgery to hopefully repair.
Nicky and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your professionalism and your help.
