Incident report

Buxton and Edale teams were called on Sunday afternoon, following a report of a walker suffering from a cardiac condition and requiring assistance.

The casualty, a 15 year old female from Hale, Warrington, was with a group doing a practice expedition for a Duke of Edinburgh Award. The location given was at the junction of the Chapel Gate track and Whitemoor Clough footpath. The group had managed the situation well in that they had erected a tent to provide shelter, and wer able to give accurate location information.

The casualty was treated on site by both EMAS and Air Ambulance paramedics and then assisted by the MR teams to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance. The casualty was flown to the Sheffield Childrens Hospital for further checks and treatment.
