Incident report
A full team callout for Buxton MRT following a report to the ambulance service of a climber having fallen from Castle Naze between Combs and Dove Holes.
The incident, being so close to the rescue team’s base, made for a fast response and backed up East Midlands Ambulance staff already on scene. The casualty, a 39 year old male from Leamington Spa, had fallen some 15 metres from a route believed to graded at HVS sustaining lower leg and head injuries.
After treatment at scene the experienced climber was made comfortable on a rescue stretcher before being carried to the roadside and an ambulance waiting to transport him to a Stockport hospital.
