Three Shires Head

A male was out with friends accidentally dropped his phone whilst taking photos of this popular beauty spot. He fell awkwardly whilst trying to retrieve the phone and in the process possibly fracturing his femur. A Midlands Air Ambulance helicopter responded and a traction splint was applied, along with pain relief by the helicopter crew. He was then placed on a scoop stretcher, but required assistance transporting him to the helicopter due to the location of the casualty. When team members arrived he was placed on the team’s stretcher and carried a short distance to the helicopter.

Grindsbrook, Edale Valley

A walker from Manchester set out from Glossop yesterday with the intention of walking to Hayfield. As the day progressed the walker became disorientated on Kinder Scout and decided to stay the night, walking off this morning.
Things didn’t go to plan and the gentleman was located by two fell runners early this afternoon who gave him food, water to rehydrate and called 999 asking for the Police, then Mountain Rescue.

Grindslow Knoll

The team were called to a female walker on Grindslow Knoll in the Edale Valley. On route to the incident the team were stood down as a Helimed helicopter was able to land near the casualty and effect an evacuation without the need of any further assistance from Buxton MRT.

Tissington Dog Search

Vulnerable missing male had contacted relatives with threats to harm himself late on 20/07. The last known location was established by Police as the area surrounding Tissington. Derby MRT and 2 SARDA England search dogs were deployed at 0200. The male was located by Police outside the search area safe and well at 0900. Search dog Griff sustained injuries to pads on all four paws due to the nature of the terrain worked and the intensity of the dogs work rate.

Mam Tor

Joint Snatch incident with Edale MRT at Mam Tor.

A 19 year old female was with a group of friends, walking their dogs on Mam Tor. The lady let her dog (Monty) off it’s lead, and became crag fast on the steep scree slope. She then followed it down to try and rescue it, but they both became crag fast.

2 team members climbed up to where they were to assess their condition while several members walked to the bottom of the slope. No injuries were reported by the casualty, and thre were no obvious injuries to Monty.
