Grindslow Knoll

As team members were preparing for Thursday evening’s crag training session a joint snatch call with Edale Mountain Rescue Team was received from a school party on Grindslow Knoll.
A young female member of the walking group had sustained a suspected fracture to her right ankle after a fall.

Since the exact location was initially unknown, the team leader used Sarloc to ascertain the exact location. Team members were quickly deployed to the casualty site and after a very hot ascent team members reached the casualty, where the team’s paramedic carried out the primary survey.

Lightwood Road Buxton

The team were called to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service with a lady who had slipped during an evening’s walk. The lady was enjoying the evening by the old Lightwood reservoir when she slipped and sustained an ankle injury.

The Lady was treated by the ambulance crew and then loaded on to the team’s stretcher for a ten minute carry to the awaiting ambulance.
We’d like to pass on our thanks to a local lady walker who raised the alarm after hearing calls for help. She assisted the team in guiding us to the casualty site.

Treak Cliff Cavern

The team and Edale MRT were called to a lady 200m above Treak Cliff Cavern, near Castleton who had slipped and injured her right leg. The lady was placed in a mountain rescue stretcher and carried to the ambulance at the Treak Cliff Cavern car park for onward travel to Hospital.

Wingerworth Dog Search

BMRT was requested to assist Derby MRT and Derbyshire Police at 1450 with an urgent search in the Wingerworth area. The request was for a search of farmland and woodland in an urgent search for a despondent sixty one year-old male, for whose safety they were concerned. The male was located safe and well at 1700.

The Winking Man Moorland Fire

As the team stood down from the 3 Shires Head incident we were made aware of a moorland fire near to the Mermaid Pub. We relocated to the Winking Man Pub to assess the situation with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue, it was ascertained that the team were not required at this time and were stood down.
