The team were called to assist a 74 year old female who had fallen whilst walking with friends in Shacklow Woods (off the A6).

She sustained an ankle injury and after being attended by the team and a paramedic, she was transported by stretcher to a waiting ambulance for onward travel to A&E.

Being a weekday incident and anticipating a limited turnout, we requested assistance from our neighbours Edale Mountain Rescue Team but were pleased to see 14 Buxton Team members make it to the RV.

Golden Clough, Kinder

While team members were raising funds at the Leek Christmas Light switch-on, we were called out, along with Edale Mountain Rescue Team, to locate and recover a walker with an injured knee reportedly having difficulties descending Golden Clough.

The casualty was located with SARLOC and the hill parties quickly arrived to administer pain relief and assist the casualty and his partner back to Edale for their onward journey.

A big turnout on a busy Friday night for both teams.

Kinder Search

Reports of two walkers unsure of their location on the Kinder plateau in failing light. The Peak District Mountain Rescue “Kinder Plan” was initiated, with Buxton, Kinder, Edale and Glossop Mountain Rescue Teams all mobilised to search pre-allocated sections of Kinder.

The pair were located after a good old fashioned search by team members, torches and three trained search dogs. The walkers were well and ready to be escorted off the hill and back to Edale.
