In what was our quickest, stand by/stand down callout so far this year, the team was called to a joint snatch incident with Edale Mountain Rescue Team to assist a walker who had experienced a medical event. The team were stood down very quickly due to information that the group had been able to get to a position by themselves to be met by a paramedic from East Midlands Ambulance Service, who was able to resolve the issue.

Millers Dale, Nr Tideswell

Another afternoon call out when team members were alerted to an incident at around the same time as they had been called out to help on the previous day.

The team was asked to attend an incident at Millers Dale, and members, having been alerted by the usual text messages, were soon on route to the RV point.

Before arriving at Millers Dale the team was informed that the incident had been resolved, and was consequently stood down, fairly quickly.

Grin Low Woods, Buxton

The team was called out late afternoon to an incident in Grin Low Woods, Buxton.

Thirteen team members responded to the callout and on arrival  they found a female casualty had reportedly been involved in an incident and had received a painful injury, to her hip/pelvic area. Following a medical assessment of the casualty,  she was  given entonox, before an East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedic arrived. The casualty was then reassessed, and given stronger pain relief before being placed in a casualty bag and vacuum mattress, and transported on a mountain rescue stretcher, to Poole’s Cavern Car Park, where she was …

Search Dog Griff call out to Hartington

As part of the Mountain Rescue and Police response to search for a missing person near Hartington, (see call out details of 28th April), search dog Griff and handler Dave were also called into help. Griff is a fully graded search dog, one of just a few in the Peak District. We also think he’s very photogenic, so here’s a couple of photographs for you.

Hartington

At about 7.45pm, this evening, the team was asked to assist Derby Mountain Rescue Team, Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England and the Police on a joint search. The request was to search for a vulnerable missing person in the Hartington area.

As team members were arriving at the RV for a briefing, the missing person was thankfully found, allowing team members to return home, for a quiet Sunday evening.
