Roach End, The Roaches

Team members were meeting at The Roaches for the Thursday night training session when they were alerted to an incident at Roach End. The team quickly deployed to Roach End and carried equipment up to the casualty’s location, which was close to the trip point.

The casualty had been running along the Roaches when they fell and sustained an ankle injury. On arrival at scene the casualty was assessed, given pain relief and their leg was splinted. They were then placed in a casualty bag on a mountain rescue stretcher (which was fitted with a wheel) …

Win hill, north east of Hope

The first of two call outs came in at 10.31 in the morning when Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were called to assist our colleagues at Edale Mountain Rescue Team as part of the mid-week joint call out procedure.

A young lady was walking off Win Hill and suffered an ankle injury, and was unable to continue. One of the EMRT rescue vehicles was able to gain access to the location via woodland tracks.

The casualty was helped into the vehicle and driven down to the road and awaiting East Midlands Ambulance Service

Great Shacklow Woods, east of Ashford in the Water

The team was called out to assist East Midlands Ambulance Servicewith a fallen walker near Ashford in the Water. Due to it being a weekday, Edale Mountain Rescue Team was also called as part of our joint snatch agreement. This means that the closest mountain rescue team members are able to assist, irrespective as to which team they are members of.

The female casualty had been out walking with her family through the woods when she slipped and took a short tumble down a slope. Both teams were quickly on scene with the ambulance crew, and …

Whaley Bridge

As the risk of a dam breach continued, the Team were tasked by Derbyshire Police to knock door to door on an additional number of properties that had been identified as being at risk of flooding and needed to be evacuated.

Thirty two team members and 10 vehicles from across Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation assisted with this part of the on-going incident.  …

Grindsbrook, Edale

Team members who had initially been called to assist with the ongoing incident at Whaley Bridge, were re tasked to the top of Grindsbook, above Edale to assist a male with an ankle injury.

The evacuation took nearly 5 hours, after which members carried onto Whaley Bridge.
