Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was called out as part of the joint snatch arrangements with Edale Mountain Rescue Team. Derbyshire Police had been informed that a 62 year old male walker had tripped and fallen in the area below Mam Tor near the old road.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were called out early Sunday afternoon to assist a walker who had injured their ankle in Dovedale. Dovedale is not our usual area and we were covering the Dovedale area for our colleagues in Derby MRT, whilst they were engaged on another task elsewhere. Being able to provide cover for each other is an important part of all of the teams abilities in the Peak District.

On Saturday afternoon the team was called to assist a a fallen climber at High Tor, Matlock.

Derby MRT team were already in the area on a training exercise and were able to quickly assist the climber was was able to walk to the waiting ambulance.

As Buxton Mountain Rescue Team members were arriving on site, it was quickly realised that the call out would be over fairly quickly,so a quick stand down was issued, enabling team members to return to their afternoon activities….

The team responded to a call for assistance for the third time in three consecutive days to the same part of Kinder Scout, late afternoon on Thursday 2nd January 2020

We were alerted to a group of 3 lost walkers and their dog, on Kinder Scout plateau. Their location was believed to be close to the top of Crowden Brook. Three search sections quickly set off from different locations in the valley heading towards the top of Crowden Brook, to try to locate the missing party.
