Hillhead Quarry, Harpur Hill

The team was requested by Derbyshire Constabulary to go to the assistance of a couple who had been walking around the quarry area. One of them had slipped and fallen, injuring their leg. The casualty was quickly located by the team, and their injury assessed. They were given pain relief before being placed in a warm ‘casualty bag’, and vacuum mattress to ensure stability of the injured leg. Kinder Scout.

As daylight was fading and the first significant snow of the season beginning to fall, two walkers on the Kinder plateau knew they were beginning to get into difficulties and sensibly took the decision to call for help by dialling 999 and asking for the Police and mountain rescue.

The party were not sure of their exact position on the plateau, so were asked to download a location app onto their phone and establish a grid reference. Derbyshire Constabulary then contacted Buxton Mountain Rescue Team who put out a call for a small group …

Another tea time call out to assist a family group who had been exploring Kinder’s southern edges while dodging the heavy rain showers in the area earlier on in the day.

As they were making their way down Grindsbrook, one of them injured their leg and was unable to continue the walk down. One of the group rang Derbyshire Constabulary, who called the team out. Odin mine, west of Castleton

An early tea time call out for the team after a group of friends were enjoying a rather damp walk in the Peak District yesterday and one of them slipped on a muddy path and injured their lower leg. The person could not continue with their walk and called for mountain rescue assistance.
