Edale

Our second callout of the day involved assisting a walker who had suffered a head injury after tripping. Fortunately, one of our team members, who happened to be working just 100 meters away, was the first to reach the scene. This team member was accompanied by an off-duty East Midlands Ambulance Service ambulance technician and First Responder from Rich Adventure, who had a complete response kit in their vehicle.

Mam Tor Face

We received reports via East Midlands Ambulance Service regarding an individual stranded at the bottom of a steep bank near Randal Carr Brook, with several suspected injuries. Our team members immediately responded to the call, along with the ambulance crew. We were relieved to learn that the casualty had been safely transferred to the ambulance. Consequently, we were stood down.

Grindsbrook Clough

Two walkers enjoying the beautiful sunny weather headed out for a day on Kinder Scout.

They ascended Grindslow Knoll, and proceeded along the edge path, then descended into Grindsbrook Clough.

Unfortunately one of the walkers took a fall , although not injured they were not confident to continue without assistance.

A party of six team members walked from Edale to meet the walkers and safely escort them down to the village.

Mam Tor

Kenny the dog had gone missing yesterday (Thursday 1st) in the area of Mam Tor. K9-SAR had been searching for Kenny and located him on the face of Mam Tor. Edale Mountain Rescue Team and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams responded. Thankfully, as team members were setting up a rope rescue system, a Mountain Rescue Search Dogs handler and dog whisperer from Edale managed to coax Kenny to safety and walk him back to his owners.

Fairholmes

Search dog Wren and handler Andy were requested to assist Edale Mountain Rescue Team in the search for a missing person who had become separated from their walking partner. Andy and Wren joined other search dogs from Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team Team, and Edale Mountain Rescue to search the Derwent edges.

Due to the increasing size of the search area, the S92 Maritime and Coastguard Agency was requested, but was unable to take off due to fog.
