Mam Tor

Whilst clearing up our equipment used for callout 21, the team was alerted to reports of a casualty feeling unwell further up Mam Tor.

Several team members walked up to meet them and walk down to Mam Nic with him and his partner.

They had gone for a walk up Mam Tor when he complained of feeling sick. He sat down, felt worse, then lost consciousness briefly and vomited. He came round quickly and when he got to the road head.

Mam Tor

A lovely run of good weather has seen people out and about in the Peak District National Park enjoying the spring sunshine.

The team was called out alongside Edale Mountain Rescue Team by Derbyshire Constabulary to a paraglider on Mam Tor that had landed heavily resulting in a serious ankle injury.

Paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service provided pain relief and treated the casualty alongside team members before a box splint was applied to stabilise and support the ankle.

Windy Knoll

The team was requested to assist Edale Mountain Rescue Team who had received a call to attend to an injured paraglider.

An East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedic was first on scene, followed by a Doctor from Edale team.

A paraglider had been practicing when he was pulled along the ground, injuring his upper arm and shoulder. He was subsequently given strong pain relief before being loaded onto a mountain rescue stretcher and carried to the ambulance.

King Sterndale

A group of walkers were enjoying the early spring sunshine above Deep Dale when they found themselves stranded on the steep ground above the valley. Rather than risk a slip or fall, the group decided to call out the team for assistance.

Team vehicles and members met near the village hall in King Sterndale and then made their way across fields to meet the walkers.

A rope system was established to protect both team members and the walkers whilst they were lowered to safer ground.

Harpur Hill Quarry

Team called out to assist Derbyshire Police and East Midland Ambulance Service with a vulnerable missing person at the blue lagoon. They were found safely.
