Three Shires Head 

A walker out enjoying the Three Shires Head tripped whilst crossing the bridge. As a result, the casualty suffered a head injury, which resulted in reduced consciousness.

A silver The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award group, witnessed the accident and raised the alarm by climbing out of the valley to obtain a phone signal.

The group’s supervisor is a member of Buxton Mountain Rescue and, after making sure the team was called out, made his way to the casualty site to commence medical care.

Grindsbrook 

The team was called out by East Midlands Ambulance Service along with Edale Mountain Rescue Team to a walker who had painfully dislocated their knee on the path leading to Grindsbrook in Edale.

Members of the team met at Edale station car park and were transported by team vehicles to the Nag’s Head Inn where equipment was deployed on foot to the casualty.

Millers Dale, east of Buxton

The team was called out by Derbyshire Constabulary, to a rock climber who had taken a fall from a height of 7 metres hurting his lower back as he landed.

Team members met at Miller’s Dale station car park and made their way to the casualty along the Monsal Trail, before descending to the river and reaching the casualty’s location.

The team provided first aid treatment then carefully loaded the casualty onto a vacuum mattress placed on top of the mountain rescue stretcher.

Chee Tor

The team was called out by Derbyshire Constabulary, to a rock climber who had taken a fall from a height of 7 metres hurting his lower back as he landed.

Team members rendezvoused at Miller’s Dale station car park and made their way to the casualty along the Monsal Trail, before descending to the river and reaching the casualty’s location on the far bank.

The team provided first aid treatment then carefully loaded the casualty onto a vacuum mattress placed on top of the mountain rescue stretcher to protect the injury….

Shutlingsloe, South East of Macclesfield

The team was called out along with Cheshire Search and Rescue to an injured walker on the side of Shutlingsloe.

The casualty had slipped on the descent of their walk injuring their leg.

Team members were originally called to Trentabank car park, but when a more exact location of the casualty was obtained were re-routed to the rendezvous point of Shutlingsloe Farm.

First Aid treatment was undertaken by team members then the casualty was stretchered down to Shutlingsloe Farm for the onward journey to A and E….
