A walking group had split up, with one group walking over Mam Tor and descending Hollins Cross, the other group walked around the base of Mam Tor and along the broken road. One of this group fell on the broken road injuring their shoulder, upper arm and ribs. One of her group phoned the walk leader (now near Hollins Cross) and discussed the incident with an EMRT member making their way up to another incident.

Just as team members were settling down to their evening meal, the team was called out to Fernilee Reservoir to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service

A mountain biker had fallen on uneven ground resulting in a painful shoulder injury and damaged ribs.

The paramedics arrived at the scene at the same time as team vehicles arrived and walked with team members to the casualty’s location.

The casualty was given pain relief by the paramedics before being helped onto a mountain rescue stretcher. Team members then sledged the stretcher …

Thursday evenings is the team’s training night and this week we were conducting a training exercise at Sparrowpit. Halfway through the evening, just as our ‘casualty’ had been loaded onto the stretcher, there was a shout from the site manager to end the exercise as a call out had come through.

Team members quickly packed all the kit away and hurriedly made their way back to the car park.

Team vehicles, operational members together with trainees then headed over to Edale to attend the call out.

Two sisters had just set off for a walk from the Monsal Head car park to visit the viaduct. Unfortunately, just after starting the descent one of the sisters slipped on the very polished limestone rocks causing an injury to the left ankle.

East Midlands Ambulance Service was first on the scene to administer pain relief and place the injured leg into a box splint.

Team members then arrived to transfer the casualty onto a mountain rescue stretcher for a short carry to the awaiting ambulance.

A report had been received that a person had fallen into the water and sustained head injuries.
