The team was called to assist Edale MRT with a paraglider that had crashed near to the gritstone edge at Stanage.

The team was called in the early hours the morning by East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) to assist with transporting a patient from a farmhouse in the Brandside area south of Buxton.
Thirteen team members attended and after wrapping the patient in an insulated casualty bag, carried the patient through snow drifts to a waiting ambulance on the nearest road. The patient was then transferred to Stepping Hill Hospital for further assessment.
Once the EMAS ambulance was safely back in Buxton, team members returned to base to sort and dry kit. Team members then returned home to catch a few hours sleep …

Eight local team members responded to a call for assistance from Edale MRT for a tobogganist with a lower leg injury. The incident was concurrent with the Goyt’s Lane incident in which a number of Buxton Team Members were already involved.
The male from South Derbyshire suffered a suspected fracture in an accident on the lower slopes of Mam Tor above the Rushup Edge Road. He was treated by an Edale Team doctor and team members before being wrapped in a vacuum mattress and casualty bag ready for evacuation to a waiting EMAS ambulance.

The team was called to Goyts Lane to assist members of the public with difficulties resulting from snow fall.
Drivers are requested to use their own judgment, rather than rely on satellite navigation in adverse winter conditions. Rural single track roads are sometimes left untreated or uncleared, or can cross high ground which will be more exposed to winter.

The Buxton team were called by Derbyshire Police to recover a family of four including young children who had become stuck on a very steep and ice covered section of Lesser Lane above Combs.   The family and their vehicle were safely recovered back to Combs village.
