Incident report
Seven members of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team went to the assistance of colleagues in Edale Mountain Rescue Team responding to a call-out at Bamford Edge. A male climber had suffered a serious medical collapse whilst on the crag and had been lowered to the ground by his friends.
A mountain rescue Doctor and paramedics attended the casualty before he was carried on a stretcher to the road where an ambulance was waiting to transfer him to a Sheffield hospital. Air-ambulance had made several valiant attempts to land near the incident location but frustratingly had failed to find a safe landing site.

One comment
The climber in question is now in the Hallamshire and is being monitored, and will hopefully make a full recovery. Without your superfast reaction things could have been much worse after the onset of the stroke – brilliant work, thank you.
