Incident report

Eleven members of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team responded when West Midlands Ambulance Service called for assistance at Bosley Cloud on the Cheshire – Staffordshire border.

A 78 year old man sustained suspected pelvic injuries following a fall whilst walking with his wife and a friend at the remote beauty spot.  Initial treatment was given by NWAS paramedics whilst team members prepared for a stretcher carry off the hill.  However, shortly after arrival at scene it was confirmed that an air-ambulance was on route and consequently only a short transfer carry to the aircraft was required.  The casualty was flown to a Manchester hospital.

The casualty’s wife and friend were taken home to Poynton by team members.
